			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The sound of this violin is beautiful. According to the player &#8220;this violin was originally all dark colored which was very much in vogue apparently in the 1880-1920 period. The areas at the? shoulders are lighter because of wear from playing over the years. This effect is often copied in an attempt to provide an &#8220;antiqued&#8221; look. Also, on older violins, you may see darkening due to rosin buildup&#8230;usually in the area between the end of the sound board and the top of the taipiece (around the bridge).</p>
